When Should I Take My First ACT?

ACT recommends taking your first ACT in the spring and/or June of your junior year.

 Should I Retest?

 Consider retesting under these conditions:

• Not feeling physically well on test day.
• Difficulty understanding test directions.
• Test scores did not accurately represent abilities in subject areas-especially after coursework has been completed.
• Discrepancy between ACT scores and high school grades
• Attempting to meet requirements for scholarship programs or admissions eligibility.

 Do I Need to Take the ACT Writing Test?

 There are currently NO colleges in Iowa that require the Writing Portion of the ACT.  Go to the link below to check what a college has decided about the ACT Writing Test.
